![]() Overall, I'm glad we went but do not see us returning. Do take the audio guide it is only a couple dollars more and occasionally an Emory curator contributes to the narration. When the Center for Puppetry Art’s new museum, Worlds of Puppetry Museum, opens this Saturday, you might see more kids than Muppets in 7,500-square-foot space dedicated to Jim Henson and. I feel the admission was very reasonable. There are no food options at the museum and the gift shop is really more of a bookstore. Parking can be a challenge and it is easy to get confused so allow adequate time for that. ![]() This is really the pretty part of the Emory campus and you cannot see it from your car driving around the perimeter of the school. If you do arrive this way, make sure and go out the main entrance when you leave which takes you the Emory quadrangle. You will most likely arrive at the museum at its lower level back entrance where you will then need to go up one level to the admission desk. I would not suggest taking young children strictly from an interest stand point. The highlights for my son (age 12) and I were the Roman & Greek statuary and the Egyptian exhibit which was the main reason for our trip. Located in midtown Atlanta, Georgia, the Center for Puppetry Arts has one of the most unique museums in all the United States. The galleries are all very similar in that the objects are behind glass that is flush with the wall, the lighting is dim, and many (not all) of the accompanying descriptions are located along the bottom of the window in very small type that also requires bending to read it. ![]() If not, you may find yourself breezing in and out of the museum in about 45 minutes or less. I'll begin by saying that to really appreciate this museum, you should have an interest in ancient history and antiquities.
